Earn while you learn
The Scottish Enterprise Undergraduate Programme is a great way for university students who are ideally on their way to completing their second year to gain valuable work experience, and get paid at the same time. We’re offering an annual salary of £16,300 pro rata for up to 13 weeks work (throughout the year). This is a great opportunity to gain an insight and contribute to the work of Scottish Enterprise and may lead to future opportunities, subject to your performance.

Challenge, variety and opportunity
Scottish Enterprise works with key sectors in Scotland’s economy, such as aerospace chemical and life sciences, creative industries, food and drink, oil and gas, tourism and textiles. The work is interesting and challenging and includes helping Scottish companies to:
• Attract investment
• Develop their management teams
• Do business outside of Scotland
• Develop their organisation, new products and services
• License technology

These opportunities are available across Scotland at our offices in Aberdeen, Bellshill, Clydebank, Dumfries, Dundee, Edinburgh, Selkirk, Glasgow, Glenrothes, Kilmarnock, Paisley and Stirling.

Requirements
Scottish Enterprise is looking for undergraduates from a variety of academic backgrounds, and would be interested to hear from you if you feel you have a degree aligned with the work of Scottish Enterprise.

Within Scottish Enterprise, we are currently increasing our focus on how we can deliver more to our customers digitally, and improve the overall delivery of our services. As part of this we are developing new ways of working and bringing new skills into the organisation. As an undergraduate you have an opportunity to join this exciting and transformative programme of work. To support this, for this year's programme, Scottish Enterprise have an interest in attracting undergraduates from computing science and related subjects, for instance software development, students from across Scotland's universities.  This is in addition to our interest in undergrdautes from a broader variety of academic backgrounds.

Previous job experience is less important than willingness to learn and flexibility of approach in response to the changing demands of a reactive workplace.  What’s most important is your enthusiasm, drive, willingness to work with others and a good amount of determination.

Scottish Enterprise are therefore looking to find people who are comfortable and willing to work as collaborative team members.  This means that while they may bring a specific skill set or discipline, some of the work they will do will relate to other tasks required to drive fast delivery.  An openness to this type of environment is therefore an essential quality for applicants.  Good interpersonal skills and a team ethos are therefore important.  In addition, a strong customer focus is essential alongside excellent written and verbal communication.

Scottish Enterprise aims to encourage the rich diversity of their workforce through policies and practices which promote creativity, talent and results regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation.
